Thomas Tuchel rules out Bayern Munich stay

Thomas Tuchel has officially announced his departure from Bayern Munich this summer following unsuccessful negotiations with the club.

Earlier this year, it was disclosed that Tuchel would be resigning from his position at the conclusion of the season. However, Bayern's unsuccessful attempts to secure several potential replacements prompted them to seek reconciliation with their existing manager.

Tuchel has officially announced that he will be leaving this summer due to the failure to reach an agreement with the Bayern management.

During his press conference at Sabener Strasse, he reiterated that the agreement made in February still stands, despite further discussions last week. Unfortunately, they were unable to find common ground for future collaboration. Tuchel expressed his disappointment, mentioning that the longer the season goes on and the more experiences they share in the Champions League, the stronger the bond becomes.

The feedback received after the Real Madrid match was particularly influential in his decision-making process. However, he did not disclose any specific reasons for the failed agreement, as he believes those should remain confidential.

Tuchel admitted feeling a sense of sadness, as he dislikes leaving teams and the dedicated employees associated with them.

Reflecting on his time at Bayern, Tuchel expressed, "The job demands complete energy, but it also provides me with an incredible amount of energy. It is a privilege, and for me, a good workout always sets the foundation for an excellent day. I can find happiness in simplicity; that has never been an issue.

"If we were to summarize the season in one sentence, it would be fair to say that a season without a title at Bayern is unsatisfactory. I won't argue against that. However, if you read the entire book and not just the title page, you'll find a disappointing cup exit that was completely inadequate.

"We finished second in the Bundesliga and accumulated a significant number of points that would have secured the championship title nine times over, I believe. Considering the numerous injuries we faced and the resilience of Bayer Leverkusen, this is a score that we should not be ashamed of. It sheds a different light on our performance.

"Our Champions League season was flawless until the 87th minute in Madrid. Losing in the end can happen, especially in Madrid. There is no reason to feel ashamed. We are self-critical and will always take responsibility, but we have the right to leave with our heads held high. There is no need to exit through the back door."

Bayern Munich have faced rejections from Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick for the managerial position, and they were unable to secure Oliver Glasner from Crystal Palace due to financial constraints.
